Philippians 2:5 "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:"

I have started a new Bible study by James MacDonald titled "Lord, Change My Attitude."  Go to my Examiner.com page at the link below to read my article explaining the Bible study.  There are five bad attitudes listed in the study and five good attitudes to replace them.

  • Complaining attitude is replaced with a thankful attitude
  • Covetous attitude is replaced with contentment
  • Critical attitude is replaced with love
  • Doubting attitude is replaced with faith
  • Rebellious attitude is replaced by submission
This is a ten week study and I have just started week one.  In this first week we study the complaining attitude.  We are taken through Numbers where the Isrealites are continously complaining and disregarding all the blessings the Lord has given them.  God heard their complaining just as He hears ours and it angers Him.  He is slow to anger but our complaining is a sure fire way to make him angry.

I have a complaining attitude.  Do you?  Search deep in your heart before answering.  Then consider this:  Complaining without doing something about it is a sin!  God hates our complaining and He judges it.

Hebrews 12:10 "Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best;..." NIV - Online Bible Study

Hebrews 12:10 "Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best;..." NIV - Online Bible Study

No one likes to be disciplined - at least no one I know. But God tells us why discipline is so important. As stated in Hebrews 12:10, our fathers disciplines us as they thought best to help us to grow up into righteous, Godly children and to help keep us safe. But God disciplines us for the sole reason that we can share in his holiness. We do this by becoming those righteous, Godly Christians our parents raised us to be and by glorifying God in everything we do. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and glorify God we are allowed into God's kingdom.

I encourage you to read my article on a father's love through discipline which is part of a complete series celebrating Father's Day at Examiner.com.

New Bible Study Series to Celebrate Father's Day

I have started a new Bible study series to help celebrate Father's Day.  Each day from now until Sunday I will publish a new article that studies fathers from the Bible.  It is my hope that through these articles and Bible studies we can all gain a better understanding of God and what He has planned for us.

The first installment of the series has been published and can be read in its entirety at my Examiner.com page (see link below).  The series starts with an article about exemplary fathers from the Bible.  The discussion revolved around Abraham and the lessons we can learn from him.

Feel free to comment and share what lessons you have learned through Abraham.  Also, please help out by joining my Facebook fan page.

New Article Published

I have published my latest article on Examiner.com.  The article is a Bible study on love.  The main focus is on 1 John 4:8 and 16 and Romans 12:9-21.  Did you know that the word 'love' is mentioned 314 times in the Bible?  God would not have continued to repeat Himself if He did not think this subject important.  Since God is love (1 John 4:8) I would say that it is a VERY important subject.  Click on this blog title to be taken to the article and give it a read.  I think you will enjoy it.  I would also love to hear your comments.  I personally think that this is discussion worthy.

Great Ideas

I got some great ideas for new articles yesterday.  Thank you Luke Thomas and Richard Todd!  Richard gave a Bible study lesson on 2 Thessalonians and his perceived timeline for the end times.  There was a lot of great material given.  Look to my Examiner page for coming articles on this subject.

Ideas, Ideas, Ideas!

I have finished my study on forgiveness.  To read all the articles visit my Examiner.com page (see the link below).  Now I am looking for new ideas.  I thought about studying and writing about the Fruits of the Spirit and/or the different kinds of prayer such as thankfulness, intercession, and supplication.  I would love to hear from my readers on what they would like to read next.  As always I am open to all suggestions and ideas.  If any of you know of any local (to my area) Bible studies I would love to hear about it.
